Stellantis Brings Digital Skills to Schools

Stellantis South Africa has partnered with Social Coding South Africa to bring coding, robotics, AI and digital literacy training to underserved schools through a mobile computer lab.
The programme will begin in early 2027, training Grade 8 and 9 learners, equipping teachers to use technology in classrooms, and certifying young facilitators to continue digital education in their communities.
Selected participants will also gain paid work experience and opportunities to compete in robotics competitions.

Gauteng School Applications Open for 2027

Parents can apply online for Grade 1 and Grade 8 placements at Gauteng public schools for the 2027 academic year from 5 August to 4 September 2026.
Applicants must register online, choose three to five schools and submit supporting documents within seven school days.
The Gauteng Department of Education has also opened 48 walk-in centres across the province to help parents complete their applications.
The department also reminds families to apply early as demand for school places continues to grow.

Zululand Trust Supports Children and Families

The Zululand Conservation Trust is supporting more than 167 children and their families in Mandlakazi, KwaZulu-Natal, through food and education projects.
The organisation has helped create vegetable gardens at crèches, upgraded early learning centres and introduced environmental education programmes.
The projects provide children with meals, learning support and families with opportunities to grow food and improve livelihoods.

The Weeknd has become the first artist to sell out six shows at Stade de France in Paris during a single tour.
His After Hours Til Dawn tour attracted more than 500,000 fans in France this summer and has sold out 13 stadium shows across the country.
The tour has sold more than 7.5 million tickets across 153 shows worldwide, with the final leg set to take place in Asia later this year.
The Weeknd is also using the tour to support education and hunger relief programmes through partnerships with Global Citizen and the United Nations World Food Programme.
