The Clearwater Chapter of the Harley Owners Group hosted a Christmas in July celebration for residents at Eventide Home for the Aged in Emmarentia as part of its annual community outreach.
After months of fundraising, members donated essential items and spent time with residents, bringing festive cheer and companionship to the home.
The group has supported charities through its annual Christmas in July initiative for the past 20 years.

Garden Route chefs cook up support for special needs learners

Restaurants from across the Garden Route put their culinary skills to the test at the 17th annual Gourmets and Gourmands charity event in George, serving themed four course meals to raise funds for Carpe Diem School.
This year's Moroccan inspired event brought together top chefs, local businesses and guests for an evening of fine dining and a charity auction, with all proceeds supporting programmes for children with special needs at the school.
School Principal Elzeth Grobler says the funds raised always go a long way in supporting the learners.

Springs police sergeant finishes third in 400 kilometre charity marathon

Springs SAPS Sergeant Mmeselane Ramoshu has finished third in the gruelling 400 kilometre Icon Journey Charity Marathon across the Eastern Cape.
Ramoshu was one of just 11 runners selected from across South Africa to take part in the eight day challenge, covering more than 42 kilometres a day before completing a final 103 kilometre stage.
The marathon follows Nelson Mandela's Long Walk to Freedom route while raising support for school shoes and sanitary products for children from disadvantaged communities.

Arts programme opens doors for young South African creatives

The Arts and Culture Trust has announced visual artist Dahlia Maubane and performer Lungile Themba as mentors for the 2026 Nyoloha Scholarship Programme, which helps young creatives prepare for careers in the arts.
The four month programme offers mentorship, industry training and exposure to emerging artists across South Africa.
Eleven finalists will advance to a national showcase, with two winners each receiving a R300 000 scholarship to study towards a tertiary arts qualification.
