Fourways Community Helps Save Craig Goodliffe’s Life
Story 1
A 55-year-old Fourways man is recovering well after life-saving surgery made possible by community support.
Craig Goodliffe was diagnosed earlier this year with a large tumour on his kidney and needed urgent surgery, but the costs were high.
Friends, family and neighbours came together to raise the funds needed for the operation at Netcare.
Doctors confirmed the tumour was contained and his other organs were not affected.
Craig is now recovering well and will continue with regular check-ups.
His daughter says the family is deeply grateful for the support that gave Craig a chance to enjoy more time with his grandchildren.

Western Cape Backs Rail to Boost Agriculture and Ease Road Pressure
Story 2
The Western Cape Mobility Department has launched a new rail freight initiative in Bredasdorp to revitalise the province’s agricultural supply chain.
The project aims to reconnect Caledon’s farming hub with Bellville and the Port of Cape Town, reducing the heavy reliance on trucks.
With nearly all goods in the corridor currently moved by road, shifting to rail could lower costs, ease congestion on the N2, and boost export capacity.
If successful, construction could start in 2026, with full operations expected by 2028.
Officials say the move is key to building a more efficient and sustainable freight system.

Backed by Dr Iqbal Survé and the Sekunjalo family, the festival aims to grow South Africa’s creative economy and connect Africa to the world.
