Thousands gather at Eldorado Park Stadium for Legends Township Marathon

The Legends Township Marathon united athletes community leaders and residents at the Eldorado Park Stadium in celebration of Sport, youth empowerment and township development.
Distances included a 42.2km, 21.1km, 10km and 4.5km races.
The Marathon has grown into the largest annual sporting event in Eldorado Park and a highlight on the City's community sport calendar, and acts as an official qualifier for both the Two Oceans Marathon and the Comrades Marathon, reinforcing its national standing in South Africa's road running fraternity.

MACX Academy celebrates World Championship qualification

Two 13-year-old learners at Knysna Primary School and members of the MACX Academy, are set to receive national colours in May following their outstanding performances at provincial level in December last year.
The learners qualified for the national street dance competition ‘Move and Dance Connect’, where they secured top honours, earning the right to represent South Africa at the World Championships in Disney, in Florida.
The MACX Academy community development programme supports around 50 students from remote and central Knysna, providing subsidised dance training and resources.
The non-profit programme is dedicated to empowering youth through performing arts.

Western Cape learners offered 500 free entries to Cape Town Cycle Tour

The Western Cape MEC for Cultural Affairs and Sport, Ricardo Mackenzie, has announced an exciting opportunity for learners in the province to participate in the Cape Town Cycle Tour.
The Cultural Affairs and Sports Department in partnership with the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust, will make 500 free entries available to learners to take part in the 42km race, which will take place on Sunday the 8th of March.
Learners between the ages of 11 and 18 are encouraged to apply.
