A new pilot project in Soweto is bringing local businesses closer together by building a township-owned supply chain. SPAZA Supply+, an initiative by KasiKonnect, has teamed up with green logistics startup ShoveBike to improve how local products get from manufacturers to spaza shops.By combining SPAZA Supply+’s network of local producers with ShoveBike’s electric cargo bikes, the partnership offers a simple, low-carbon way to handle last-mile deliveries. The goal is to keep things efficient while making sure value stays within the community.

Tshwane to Host Historic Premier Padel Event
The City of Tshwane has been confirmed as the host city of a P2-status event on the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour. This is the first professional padel tournament of its kind to be staged in Sub-Saharan Africa. The P2 signals the sport’s transition from a fast-growing recreational activity to a fully fledge professional event.The tournament is scheduled for the 26 July to the 2nd August 2026, with a prize pool of approximately 5.3 million rand.

South Coast's Major Clean-Up After Heavy Rain
The South Coast swung into a major clean-up operation following last week’s heavy downpour, which caused localised flooding in several areas.Residents, business owners, staff and volunteers from Shelly Beach to Margate cleaned beaches and, reopened shopping centres.
