The support included new uniforms, medals, a trophy and a R2 000 voucher, helping ease the costs faced by the grassroots club.
The team says having proper equipment has also helped players feel more confident and proud when representing their club.
The initiative supports young girls through sport while encouraging teamwork, discipline and leadership.

Ballito community helps recover lost wedding ring

A simple Facebook appeal has led to a heartwarming community effort and the return of a treasured wedding ring in Ballito.
Anecia Vosloo realised she had lost the ring on a local beach and asked the Hello Ballito community for help finding someone with a metal detector.
Community member Donald Ensor responded and used a metal detector to search the beach, successfully finding the missing ring.
Anecia said she was overwhelmed by the kindness and support shown by the community.

Soweto musicians shine on UK stages

Young musicians from the Buskaid Soweto String Ensemble have returned home after a successful UK tour.
The Diepkloof based ensemble performed alongside award winning chamber group Ensemble Hesperi at venues in London and Dorset.
Their performances combined Baroque classics with energetic township Kwela music, while workshops gave the young musicians further opportunities to develop their skills.
