Spotify has introduced an in-app direct messaging tool, making it easier for users to share songs, podcasts and audiobooks without leaving the platform.
Launched this week, the feature is available in selected markets to both Free and Premium users aged 16 and above.
It allows people to send music and other content directly to contacts they have previously interacted with on Spotify, including playlist collaborators and Family or Duo plan members.
Users can also manage their privacy by opting out of receiving messages or filtering requests.
The development forms part of Spotify’s push to expand beyond music, with recent growth in podcasts, audiobooks and a premium tier expected later this year.
