International Relations minister Ronald Lamola says South Africa's G20 presidency is now in its most critical phase, as preparations intensify for the leaders’ summit.
Lamola says negotiations at ministerial level will shape the Johannesburg declaration.
Key meetings ahead include the G20 Compact with Africa in Johannesburg, a food security session in Cairo, Egypt and an industrialisation summit in Abuja, Nigeria.

A new pilot initiative by Dream Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with, business center, TUU Post, is working to make resort holidays and hotel stays more affordable for South Africans.
The township travel project, currently operating in five TUU Post stores in Soweto, Alexandra, and Katlehong, offers value-driven and experience-rich holidays to local communities.
According to Clyde Keevy, head of leisure sales at Dream Hotels & Resorts, the company plans to expand its footprint across more communities, providing South Africans with access to affordable local travel and showcasing the country's beauty in style and comfort.

The South African Social Security Agency will introduce mandatory beneficiary biometric enrolment at all its offices across the country from 1 September.
The move aims to reduce fraud and improve efficiency in the administration of social grants.
Using fingerprint or facial recognition technology, the biometric system will verify the identity of recipients and serve as a safeguard against fraudulent activities.
SASSA CEO Themba Matlou confirmed that the agency is ready to implement the new system, which is expected to enhance audit outcomes, streamline documentation, and boost public trust in the social grants system.
