Soweto learners celebrate World Book Day

Learners at Elsie Ngidi Primary School in Soweto marked World Book and Copyright Day on last Thursday through storytelling, poetry, singing and a dramatization of the traditional South African folktale-Tselane and Dimo.
The event, led by Nal'ibali with the Gauteng Department of Education, gave learners direct exposure to books and reading activities.
The programme promotes reading skills and access to literacy resources in a community where many children lack early reading support.
