The Melville Mzansi Art Expo will take place in Johannesburg on Saturday.
Organisers say the expo will not only provide a platform for established and emerging artists to display their work, but also serve as a space for dialogue, education, and cultural exchange.
The exhibition will feature a diverse range of works that blend traditional South African narratives with fresh perspectives on contemporary African art.

Sunday last change to visit National Parks for free

Sunday is the last day for the public to make use of the South African National Parks Week which has been running from 22nd September 2025.
This gives South Africans free access to explore the country’s natural treasures.
It aims to encourage citizens to experience and appreciate their natural heritage.

The Western Cape Education Department has urged the public to prioritise matric candidates in the lead-up to the final exam period.
The 2025 National Senior Certificate exams are set to begin on the 21st of October.
Western Cape Education MEC David Maynier says matric teachers, tutors and officials have been working tirelessly to prepare the learners for the final stretch of their school journey.

From September 21 to October 18, South Africa observes Eyecare Awareness Month, focusing on regular eye tests and preventing avoidable blindness.
The rising prevalence of type 2 diabetes has increased the risk of cataracts, a leading cause of blindness.
To combat this, the OSSA Right to Sight Trust will perform over 1-thousand free cataract surgeries in 2025.
Around 700 of these surgeries will take place during the awareness month.
