The City of Johannesburg's Community Development Department hosted the second annual South African Digital Literacy Day, partnering with the Library and Information Association of SA.

The event is part of Global Media and Information Literacy Week, observed from 24th to 31st October, and endorsed by UNESCO.

DUT to host global GISU Urban Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

The Durban University of Technology will host the grand finale of the global GISU Urban Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition this week.
This is in partnership with the Alliance of Guangzhou International Sister-City Universities.
The prestigious competition comprises students from 28 universities representing 23 different countries.
Representing DUT in the competition will be five student entrepreneurs, comprising three women and two males.
The competition will be held under the theme, Further Promoting Sustainable Urban Development.

Various libraries will assist learners by creating dedicated spaces to study.
Mayoral committee member for Community Services and Health, Francine Higham, says the matric support programme offers space and access to resources, including study guides, and the online SmartCape service, where they can access past exam question papers:
