The US Department of Transportation has unveiled a new crash test dummy modelled on female anatomy. The dummy is designed to close long-standing safety gaps in vehicle testing.
Equipped with over 150 sensors, it can measure forces on the brain, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine and limbs.
It mimics realistic female posture and flexibility, improving understanding of how crashes affect women.
Officials say the dummy will soon be incorporated into federal vehicle safety tests. The move aligns the US with other countries that have already introduced female-specific crash test dummies.
