The event brought together the agricultural community, sponsors and partners, with proceeds going to the Agri Relief Foundation to assist farmers facing livestock losses and trade disruptions caused by the outbreak.

World age group champions race through Cape Town

Some of the world’s fastest age group marathon runners competed in the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon on Sunday, 24 May, as part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group World Championships.
Nearly 2,000 runners from more than 40 countries took part in the event, including former Olympians and defending champions competing in age categories from 40 to over 80.
Organisers say the championships formed part of the marathon’s biggest weekend yet, with thousands of athletes and supporters filling the streets of Cape Town as the city continues its bid to become Africa’s first Abbott World Marathon Major.
