Soweto learners gain robotics AI lab

Learners at Siyabonga Secondary School in Soweto now have access to a new robotics, coding and artificial intelligence laboratory.
The facility was launched last week through a partnership between the Shoprite Foundation and the Trevor Noah Foundation.
Grades 8 and 9 will follow coding and robotics lessons during school hours, while Grades 10 to 12 will attend after-school AI and career training programmes, supported by trained educators.
The partners say the lab is part of a wider rollout of similar facilities aimed at building digital skills in South African schools.
