South Africa Wins Gold At London Flower Show

South Africa has won a gold medal at the Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show in London—its 39th gold in 44 years. Designed by Leon Kluge, this year’s garden celebrated the meeting of the Indian and Atlantic oceans, using more than 25,000 stems of fynbos and other indigenous plants. On top of the gold, South Africa also took home the Lawrence Medal, awarded to the best floral exhibit across all RHS shows for the year. The garden will be rebuilt in Stanford in the Western Cape, giving South Africans a chance to enjoy the award-winning display at home.
