The City of Johannesburg and the University of the Witwatersrand will announce winners of the Smart City Innovation Challenge on 1 April 2026 at the Wits Origins Centre.
The competition aims to develop tech solutions that tackle urban challenges and improve city services.
Seven finalists will receive pilot grants ranging from R100,000 to R300,000.
The Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct will host the ceremony and review innovations for potential implementation.
