Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Centre marks successful first anniversary

The Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretation Centre in the Golden Gate Highlands National Park celebrated its first anniversary, since officially opening its doors on the 22nd of June last year.

SANParks says the centre has attracted over 101-thousand visitors, including over 40-thousand learners and educators from 272 schools.

The attraction showcases Africa’s prehistoric heritage through interactive exhibits and fossil displays.

The centre has played an important role in promoting heritage awareness, supporting education and research, and contributing to tourism growth.

Hollywoodbets Durban July returns

The countdown has begun for the Hollywoodbets Durban July, which takes place on the 4th of July at the Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse in Durban.

This marks the 130th edition of the iconic horse racing event that will feature a record-breaking prize purse of R10 million.

McKenzie pledges R5 million bonus for every Bafana World Cup win

The Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie has pledged a R5 million incentive for every match Bafana Bafana wins at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Minister was addressing the national team after its historic victory over South Korea on Thursday.
Mc Kenzie said the rewards would include the recent group stage victory.

Bafana Bafana reached the FIFA World Cup Round of 32 for the first time after defeating South Korea in their final Group A match. The team will now face co-hosts Canada on Sunday at 9pm in the knockout stage.

The minister said he would also engage the private sector to secure additional sponsorship for the national team as it continues its World Cup campaign.
