Golf4Change connects youth to careers, mentorship and opportunity

Young golfers took centre stage at the inaugural Golf4Change Jozi Youth Legacy Invitational, that was hosted by the City of Johannesburg at the Wanderers Golf Club in Johannesburg.

The MMC for Community Development in the City of Johannesburg, Cllr Thapelo Amad says the tournament formed part of the City's commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the June 16 Youth Uprising.

Amad says Golf4Change was designed to create opportunities for young people beyond the sport and serves as a strategic platform that connects youth with professional networks, mentorship programmes, internship opportunities, employment pathways and entrepreneurial support.

The event brought together government leaders, business executives, sponsors and young people from across the city, demonstrating how sport can be used as a powerful vehicle for mentorship, networking and economic empowerment.

Hollywoodbets Durban July returns

The countdown has begun for the Hollywoodbets Durban July, which takes place on the 4th of July at the Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse in Durban.

This marks the 130th edition of the iconic horse racing event that will feature a record-breaking prize purse of R10 million.

EThekwini Mayor, Cyril Xaba, reaffirmed the City's state of readiness to host thousands of visitors for the event, highlighting Durban’s world-class infrastructure, hospitality and vibrant tourism offerings.

The event will combine high fashion and entertainment with live performances, including music from headline artist Zakes Bantwini.

Steadfast Africa raises over R2 Million for community development

The luxury travel company Steadfast Africa has raised over R2m for its South African non-profit partners the Kolisi Foundation and the Good Work Foundation.

More than 300 supporters, partners and changemakers gathered in London for an evening dedicated to creating meaningful impact.

The funds raised will help both organisations continue their work in communities across South Africa, tackling challenges ranging from education and digital inclusion to food security, youth development and social upliftment.

The evening’s fundraising total is expected to increase, with an online auction and raffle remaining open until the 8th of July.
