70 000 Meals Packed for Children at ECD Centres

Thousands of children at 135 early childhood development centres across Ekurhuleni, the West Rand and Soweto will receive nutritious meals after the 100% Foundation and Rise Against Hunger Africa packed 70 000 meal packs with the help of 120 volunteers.
The initiative has grown significantly since 2024 and helps ECD centres reduce food costs, allowing them to invest more in education, safety and teacher development.

Operation Smile South Africa has completed another free cleft lip and palate surgery programme at Rob Ferreira Hospital in Mbombela, giving children and adults a renewed chance at healthier, more confident lives.
The programme, run in partnership with the Mpumalanga Department of Health, screened 31 patients, with 25 selected to receive specialised surgery and follow up care.
The initiative also included a free oral health programme for children, expanding access to essential healthcare for local families.
