Ellis Park Hosts Youth Tennis Coaching

More than 120 young tennis players took part in coaching sessions and skills development at Ellis Park Tennis Centre in Johannesburg.
Through Play it Forward Jozi and partners, donated racquets and shoes, while Baseline Racquets provided additional footwear and prizes to help young players continue playing the sport.
University of Johannesburg students and coaches led training drills and fitness assessments over the two-day event.
The programme gave young players access to equipment, coaching and support to develop their talent.

eThekwini Bakery Project Creates Jobs

The eThekwini Municipality's Community Container Bakeries Programme has created 222 permanent jobs while helping township entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses.
Since launching in 2019, the programme has delivered more than 30 fully equipped container bakeries across Durban, providing equipment, training and business support to qualifying co-operatives.
During the 2025/26 financial year, six new bakeries opened, with three more planned for 2026/27.
One beneficiary, Bread Army Bakery in Zwelibomvu, has grown from a two-person home business to a bakery employing seven full-time staff.

KwaSizabantu Hosts Major Youth Conference

More than 6,000 young people gathered in KwaZulu-Natal earlier this month, for the first 2026 KwaSizabantu youth conference.
Participants took part in teaching sessions, mentorship, worship, volunteer activities and discussions on making responsible decisions and overcoming challenges such as peer pressure and drug abuse.
Hundreds of volunteers helped provide meals, accommodation and support throughout the week-long event.
The conference has been held since 1974 and continues to equip young people with practical skills and support for their families and communities.
