iStore Opens Education Awards Entries

South African teachers and learners can now enter the 2026 iStore Education Excellence in Education Awards, which recognise innovative classroom projects using Apple technology.
The competition is open to primary and high school learners and their educators, who must submit a project showing how they used a Mac or iPad to bring learning to life.
Winners in the primary school category will receive the latest iPad, while high school winners will receive a MacBook Neo.
Entries close on 2 October 2026.

ACSA Upgrades Airport App With AI

Airports Company South Africa is adding new AI-powered features to its mobile app to help passengers move through its airports more easily.
Later this year, travellers will be able to use an AI chatbot to get quick answers to travel questions and an augmented reality feature to find departure gates, shops and other facilities.
The app will provide step-by-step directions after passengers scan QR codes in airport terminals or select a destination.

Football Campaign Opens New Opportunities

Young footballers from Khayelitsha explored career opportunities, visited Table Mountain and took part in a community football tournament through Hisense South Africa's Hands on the Future campaign.
The initiative included a visit to the Hisense Atlantis factory, where the players learned about careers beyond football, and a stop at the Tevolution Museum to help create a community mural.
Hisense partnered with the Pitso Mosimane Youth Football programme to donate football kits, equipment and coaching to 10 local teams, benefiting about 160 young players.
The campaign combined sport, education and community support to encourage young people to pursue their goals.
