Spier Wines cellarmaster Johan Jordaan has been named the world’s Master Chenin Blanc Winemaker for the second year in a row.
Jordaan received the title at the Master Winemaker 100 event in Paris, France.
The Stellenbosch based winemaker says the recognition highlights the quality and balance of South Africa’s Chenin Blanc and reflects the country’s growing reputation in the global wine market.
He describes the award as a milestone not only for himself but for local producers who have worked for decades to build South Africa’s standing in the international wine industry.

Futura Special School in Ridgeway will hold its third annual Autism Awareness big walk and fun day on 18 April, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The event, starting at 20 Leipoldt Street, will feature a 3-kilometre walk, children’s games, and food stalls, all aimed at raising funds for the school’s programmes.
It is designed to bring the community together, highlight the challenges faced by children with autism, and promote understanding and inclusion.
