Futura Special School to host autism awareness walk and fun day

Futura Special School in Ridgeway will hold its third annual Autism Awareness big walk and fun day on 18 April, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The event, starting at 20 Leipoldt Street, will feature a 3-kilometre walk, children’s games, and food stalls, all aimed at raising funds for the school’s programmes.
It is designed to bring the community together, highlight the challenges faced by children with autism, and promote understanding and inclusion.

Fort Hare student wins national Budget Speech challenge

Students from universities across South Africa competed in Cape Town for the 54th Nedbank and Old Mutual Budget Speech Competition.
Twenty finalists were selected to analyse and respond to the Budget delivered by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana.
The competition gives young South Africans a platform to present policy-focused essays and engage with industry leaders.
The overall undergraduate winner, Msindisi Lizani from the University of Fort Hare, explained what his speech was about

SA entrepreneur confirmed as TEDx speaker

South African entrepreneur Dr Danny Tong, founder of the InvesTong Group, has been confirmed as a speaker at the upcoming TEDxSandton event.
His talk, titled Mastering the New World We Live In, will explore how leaders and institutions can adapt to rapid technological, economic, and social change.
Tong says his presentation aims to encourage innovation, responsible decision-making, and open discussion about navigating uncertainty in a fast-changing world.
If approved, the talk will be uploaded to the TEDx platform, joining a global library of ideas reaching millions of viewers worldwide.
