The University of Johannesburg and the Good Work Foundation have launched a three-year research partnership to improve education, well-being, and employment prospects for students in South Africa’s rural communities.
The collaboration combines UJ’s academic research with GWF’s on-the-ground experience, tracking student outcomes and analysing digital skills and work-readiness programmes to generate measurable social impact.

Spier winemaker earns global Chenin Blanc honour

Spier Wines cellarmaster Johan Jordaan has been named the world’s Master Chenin Blanc Winemaker for the second year in a row.
Jordaan received the title at the Master Winemaker 100 event in Paris, France.
The Stellenbosch based winemaker says the recognition highlights the quality and balance of South Africa’s Chenin Blanc and reflects the country’s growing reputation in the global wine market.
He describes the award as a milestone not only for himself but for local producers who have worked for decades to build South Africa’s standing in the international wine industry.
