SPAR Proteas give back
Story 1
The SPAR Proteas have used their recent 2–1 victory over the England Roses in the SPAR Challenge to generate sanitary pad donations.
Through SPAR’s #EndPeriodPoverty campaign, each goal scored in the series converted into packs of SPAR Petals sanitary pads.
The team scored 166 goals, with 20 bonus goals from spectator activations, resulting in 1,860 packs handed to the Ubuntu Social and Community Development Club’s 600 Project 2026.
The donation will supply 155 schoolgirls with sanitary products, helping them remain in school.

The team collected buggies from hospitals, renovated them, and worked with therapists to customise each one for the recipient’s specific needs.
They also hosted a Buggy Recycling Workshop for therapists to expand local support and training.
The outreach provided recipients of all ages with improved mobility and independence, giving families practical assistance in areas with limited access to equipment.
