The bank was officially launched on Wednesday in Sandton.

Rand Water confirms two maintenance phases scheduled for January

Rand Water has confirmed 2 further maintenance phases scheduled for January.

Phase 3 of the maintenance will start on the 6th of and will include valve and meter replacements on the f18 pipeline.
This phase will run until the 8th of January and will affect parts of Mogale City, Rand Westand other parts of Johannesburg including Kagiso, Roodepoort and Meadowlands.

The final phase of the maintenance will run from the 16th to the 17th of January.
The Water and Sanitation Ministry spokesperson Cornelius Monama says water supply from Vereniging will be reduced by 200 megalitres per day, impacting parts of emfuleni.

“G20” Named South Africa’s Word of the Year for 2025

G20” has been named South Africa’s Word of the Year for 2025.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Pan South African Language Board in partnership with media research company Focal Points.

According to PanSALB, the selection process involved shortlisting words based on authentic language use across the country.
Focal Points analysed keyword frequency from January to December, tracking terms most commonly used in reputable print, broadcast and online media.

G20” emerged as the most prominent keyword, largely driven by South Africa hosting the G20 summit in 2025.
