Ekurhuleni East TVET College has opened a new Comfort Room at its Springs Campus to give students easier access to important support services.
The facility provides assistance with mental health, HIV and psychosocial wellbeing, while also helping students deal with personal and academic challenges.
Launched in partnership with Higher Health, the room offers a safe and supportive space where students can seek guidance and assistance.
The facility is part of efforts to promote student wellbeing and help young people continue their studies with the right support.

Six community soup kitchens and two early childhood development centres in Touwsranten have received new equipment and upgrades from SANParks.
Sonneblom Crèche, which serves around 80 children, staff and caregivers, received improvements to its infrastructure, kitchen and sanitation.
The six soup kitchens provide about 1,400 meals to adults and children each week and received stoves, fridges, gas cylinders and cooking equipment.

The Roosevelt Park community came together to support Gem Homes at the retirement home’s annual Christmas in July fundraiser.
The event featured handmade crafts, baked goods, clothing and books, with proceeds helping maintain the home and support residents who cannot afford the full cost of their care.
Funds will also go towards renovations and subsidising accommodation for residents whose pensions and grants are not enough.
