YouthX Awards Open For Young Entrepreneurs

Young South Africans aged 18 to 26 can enter the 2026 YouthX Awards, with entries closing on 9 October.
YouthX by Nedbank is inviting young entrepreneurs to submit business ideas, community solutions, products or existing ventures for consideration.
Winners will receive cash prizes, mentorship, financial education and business support, while the top three will have the opportunity to attend the One Young World Summit.
Finalists will present their ideas to an independent judging panel, with the winners set to be announced on 21 November.

The Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo says the recent tree-planting drive plays a vital role in the urban environment, and educating young people about environmental care is equally important.
The initiative brought communities and other stakeholders together at Mushroom Farm Park in Sandton, where participants planted trees and learned about protecting green spaces.

246 Take Part in Trails for Trunks

Two hundred and 46 runners and walkers took part in HERD’s fourth annual Trails for Trunks event in Pretoria earlier this month.
Participants completed trail distances ranging from two to 15 kilometres to raise support for HERD’s elephant rescue, rehabilitation and conservation work.
Supporters also joined the event virtually from other parts of the world, walking and running for the cause.
The event gave the public a chance to support HERD’s work while taking part in a community trail event.
