JMPD issues road closure alert

Motorists have been advised of major road closures in Johannesburg as cyclists will take to the streets for the annual Joburg cycle race.
The event includes a 97-kilometre road race and a 35-kilometre short route.
Johannesburg Metro Police Department spokesperson Xolani Fihla says officers will be deployed to ensure safety and manage traffic from 4am to 5pm across affected areas, including Soweto, Randburg, Fourways, and Nasrec.
He urges motorists to plan routes and exercise patience:
