Black Coffee Foundation benefit concert in Johannesburg

The Black Coffee Foundation will host a benefit concert at Melrose Arch in Johannesburg on 29 November 2025.
The event follows its Music Conference & Exhibition held the day before and features the Africa Is Not A Jungle stage, celebrating African electronic music and creativity.
Headliner Black Coffee will perform alongside top artists from the electronic, dance and amapiano scenes, including DJ Lag, Kabza De Small, Major League DJz and Uncle Waffles.
The concert also showcases fashion, art and live performances, with a Grade Africa pop-up highlighting contemporary African streetwear
. Organisers say the event is part of the Foundation’s efforts to use music, culture and community to support social-impact initiatives.

Alpha male baboon Martello spared from euthanasia

Plans to euthanise Martello, the dominant male of the Seaforth baboon troop, have been cancelled following concerns from conservationists.
The decision comes after the release of the Final Baboon Action Management Plan, which sets guidelines for population control and sanctuary relocation in the Cape Peninsula.
Martello is known for his protective and caregiving behaviour toward juveniles, including rescuing injured troop members.
Authorities confirmed that euthanasia is not being considered, allowing him to remain with his troop as management continues.

Paris flash mob creator hits new heights

The French pianist behind the viral Paris "Bohemian Rhapsody" flash mob is taking his performances to a new level. Julien Cohen has launched a major new project featuring 100 classical musicians performing five songs in central Paris.
The first release, a Christmas video, forms part of this larger production and has already attracted millions of views since being published on Monday.
It follows the success of the original flash mob that reached around 600 million views online.
The project involved extensive planning, multiple performances and dozens of camera operators to capture the crowd’s reaction. Cohen aims to keep creating ambitious, high-quality events that bring music and joy to public spaces.
