A charity art auction titled Colours of Compassion will take place in Johannesburg on 28 May at Melrose Arch, bringing together more than 30 South African artists in support of children needing reconstructive surgery and burns treatment.
The event is a collaboration between Smile Foundation, August House and upSTArt Galleries.
The auction will feature works from both established and emerging artists, with proceeds going directly towards medical care, psychosocial support and treatment for children across South Africa.

South African star Tyla has won Social Song of the Year at the 2026 American Music Awards for her global hit CHANEL, adding another major milestone to her rising international career.
She also picked up Best Afrobeats Artist on a night that confirmed her growing influence in global music.
Tyla went into the ceremony with four nominations, including Best Female R and B Artist and Best Music Video, making her the most nominated African artist in AMA history.
Her track CHANEL has already surpassed hundreds of millions of streams and continues to dominate global charts.

The Boksburg SPCA has launched a new outreach initiative in Boksburg aimed at improving animal welfare through direct community engagement.
Inspectors are now going door to door in areas such as the Holomisa informal settlement, checking on pets and assisting owners with basic care support.
The programme focuses on early intervention, education and providing essentials like food and blankets where needed, while also helping arrange veterinary care and sterilisation services.
The SPCA says the approach is designed to build trust and improve animal welfare in communities with limited access to resources.
