FDR Primary Celebrates Gold Medal Hero

Franklin D. Roosevelt Park Primary School in Johannesburg gave a hero’s welcome to Kyle Arm-dorff.
Kyle brought home two gold medals from the International President Cup 2025 Regatta in Azerbaijan.
He won the U14 Boys K1 200m and 500m races, proudly representing South Africa.
The school celebrated with songs, a poem, and a slideshow of his journey.
Staff said Kyle made history as their first international champion in 73 years.
Kyle thanked everyone who supported him, saying he was proud to represent his family, school, and friends.

Africa’s Leaders Tackle Infrastructure in Cape Town

Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Dean McPherson, is hosting ministers, premiers, and MECs from across Africa.
The meeting is currently underway in Cape Town for the first day of the 2025 Sustainable Infrastructure Development Symposium.
The two-day meeting, known as the Infrastructure Leaders Forum, aims to fix poorly run municipalities, push for structural reform, reduce red tape, and boost infrastructure investment.
Minister of Communications and Digital Technology, Solly Malatsi, says South Africa is also focusing on attracting digital infrastructure investment to become a hub for data centres.
