Rand Water initiates a major winter maintenance program in Gauteng

Gauteng residents are urged to prepare for reduced water supply as Rand Water begins its winter maintenance at key pumping stations.

The water utility says pumping capacity will be reduced at the Eikenhof, Palmiet, Mapleton and Zwartkopies water plants.

As a result, areas within the cities of Joburg, including Ekurhuleni and Tshwane may experience low to irregular water supply.

The Rand West, Mogale City, Madibeng, Rustenburg and Emfuleni Municipalities will also be affected.
