Sandton SPCA hosts annual Golf Day to raise funds

The Sandton SPCA held its fourth annual golf day at Houghton Golf Club in Johannesburg to raise funds for animal welfare.
Golfers and sponsors came together on 18 March to support the organisation’s work caring for animals in need.
The event raised around 70,000 rand, which will help cover daily running costs and essential improvements.
The SPCA says it relies heavily on community support and fundraising events to keep its services running.

Limpopo premier Phophi Ramathuba says government is building a new home for the Sithole family of recently separated conjoined twins.
Speaking in Mankweng Hospital, Ramathuba confirmed the babies are recovering well, with one breathing independently.
Ramathuba says the house will be completed before their discharge, with support from private sector partners.
She added the province is also strengthening healthcare infrastructure and will ensure the children receive proper early childhood development support:

The Springbok Women’s Sevens squad last weekend qualified for the Sevens World Championship series with one tournament left to play.
Maria Tshiremba says it was a huge relief but they are not done and still want to finish on the strongest possible terms when the final tournament takes place in Sao Paulo.
Tshiremba has scored 11 tries in the three qualifying events prior to the Brazil finale.
South Africa face Spain in their opening match again on Saturday, before taking on Kenya and Brazil.
On Sunday, they will finish the tournament against Argentina and China.
