King Charles III England Coast Path now open
Teaser / Tailpiece story
A new walking trail, the King Charles III England Coast Path, now lets people follow the entire coast of England, stretching more than 4 300 kilometres from north to south.
The trail, which has been in development for 18 years, joins existing paths with newly built boardwalks, bridges, and walkways, so hikers can safely enjoy cliffs, beaches, dunes, and marshes without walking on roads. Only two short sections are still incomplete.
It is designed for everyone to enjoy nature, learn about the coast, and explore areas that were previously hard to reach. The trail will be fully open by the end of the year, with ongoing maintenance to keep it accessible.
