The Sandton SPCA held its fourth annual golf day at Houghton Golf Club in Johannesburg to raise funds for animal welfare.
Golfers and sponsors came together on 18 March to support the organisation’s work caring for animals in need.
The event raised around 70,000 rand, which will help cover daily running costs and essential improvements.
The SPCA says it relies heavily on community support and fundraising events to keep its services running.

A new Dream Room for children has opened at Steve Biko Academic Hospital, launched by the Reach For A Dream Foundation in partnership with global medical tech company Medtronic.
The room offers games, books, toys, and virtual reality experiences, giving young patients a space to relax and interact while preparing for treatment.
Psychology graduates trained in Early Childhood Development lead activities that help build resilience, creativity, and developmental skills during hospital visits.
This brings the total number of Dream Rooms in South Africa to 58.

Thembisa South SAPS visited Nyiko Primary School on 16 March to teach learners how to stay safe and prevent crime.
During the session, learners practiced safety strategies, learned how to respond to risks, and gained practical skills they can use at school and at home.
The program also gave students the chance to interact directly with police officers, helping them understand law enforcement and build trust.
By taking part, learners leave better prepared to protect themselves and their communities.
