The City of Tshwane’s Section 79 Utility Services Committee says it’s pleased with the progress made in refurbishing the Rooiwal Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The plant, once linked to unsafe water in Hammanskraal, is now showing signs of improvement in water quality and compliance.
Committee chairperson Flora Monama says Phase 1A of the project was completed on time, and Phase 1B began in April, focusing on civil works.
She adds that ongoing monitoring and progress reports confirm efforts to meet national water standards.
The committee says it remains committed to ensuring quality service delivery for residents and will conduct a site visit in the next financial year.

Running Shoes Drive Health and Hope in Diepsloot

In a heartening community effort, Afrika Tikkun and Discovery Vitality’s Give2Move initiative have donated the first pairs of running shoes to young beneficiaries in Diepsloot.
Aimed at youth aged 13 to 30, the initiative promotes physical activity as a way to unlock potential, dignity and opportunity.
Launched in February, Give2Move seeks to collect 100,000 pairs of new or gently worn sports shoes for disadvantaged communities nationwide.
