Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) is upgrading its mobile app with an AI-powered chatbot and augmented reality navigation to make travelling through its airports easier.
The new chatbot, expected later this year, will help passengers quickly find answers to their travel questions. ACSA is also developing an augmented reality wayfinding feature that will guide travellers to their departure gates, shops or other facilities using their smartphone. Passengers will be able to scan QR codes inside airport terminals or select a destination in the app for step-by-step directions.
