Sunset Avenue intersection upgrade underway to ease traffic and boost safety

Construction to convert the busy Sunset Avenue and Forest Drive intersection into a traffic circle is underway, aiming to ease congestion and improve pedestrian safety by September.

The project, led by Pineslopes Boulevard in partnership with the Johannesburg Roads Agency, will replace the current multi-way stop with a traffic circle to improve traffic flow and safety.

The acting HOD for Mobility and Freight at the JRA, Sipho Nhlapo explained that the introduction of the traffic circle at the key intersection will help address congestion by improving traffic flow and reducing waiting times

Construction is expected to be completed by the 30th of September this year.

The king of pop music Michael Jackson’s signed drawings will be auctioned off in Los Angeles next month.

According to King’s Auctions, the legendary performer drew inspiration from a wide range of artistic styles — spanning classical, architectural, pop art and formal portraiture.

The auction house also noted Jackson’s deep admiration for London and traditional British customs.
A total of 78 original pieces will be auctioned off to collectors and fans around the world.
