Story 1
South African artist Ayanda Gumede has launched the I Am Art Gallery, the country’s first mobile walk-in art gallery.
The gallery based in Durban visits urban and remote communities.
It also provides a space for regional artists to develop their craft and showcase their work.
Gumede, who has worked as a curator, consultant, and mentor, has also established The Art Club Foundation to support children with disabilities.
She hopes that the gallery will make art accessible to children and adults in rural communities, many of whom have never been in an art gallery before.
