MasiSport helps learners recover after Masiphumelele fire
Story 2
MasiSport, a non-profit that runs school and after-school programmes in sports, arts, and life skills in Masiphumelele, has stepped in to support around 160 learners who lost their school uniforms in a recent fire.
The organisation launched a uniform drive and is working with schools to ensure children can keep attending classes, even if it means coming in casual clothes.
Feeding schemes are also running to give learners extra support during this difficult time.
MasiSport says the response shows the strength of the community, as neighbours, schools, and partner organisations come together to restore routine, pride, and hope for the affected learners.

Gauteng accelerates rollout of smart driver licence centres
Story 3
The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport is accelerating the rollout of Smart Driver Licence Testing Centres across the province to improve access to licensing services. The department says the centres are being rolled out closer to townships, informal settlements and hostels.
The new smart centres are cashless, designed to reduce backlogs, increase capacity and process licence renewals in about ten minutes.
This is expected to make licensing quicker, safer and more convenient for residents.
Smart centres are already operating in Atteridgeville, Denlyn, Maponya Mall, Centurion, Protea Glen and Midrand.
An additional smart centre in Umphakathi is set to open soon, further expanding access to modern licensing services in Gauteng.

Community raises R520 000 to give South Bend man a new truck
Teaser / Tailpiece story
Mo Riles of South Bend, Indiana, received a brand-new 2019 Chevy Silverado after the community raised more than R520 000 to replace his old, heavily damaged truck.
The 2000 Chevy Silverado had become a viral meme online because of its battered appearance, but Mo relied on it every day to get to work while facing financial and health challenges.
Local business owner Colin Crowel started a crowdfunding campaign, and donations from neighbours and local businesses made the new truck possible.
Mo says the support left him emotional and grateful, calling the new vehicle a symbol of the community coming together.
