Vision For All has launched an initiative to identify and address vision problems that affect children’s learning and daily activities.
The programme screens young people, detects eyesight challenges early, and links families to eye-care support to prevent children from falling behind in class.
Vision For All Director, Judith Mangena, say increased exposure to digital screens has placed added strain on children’s eyes, often leading to headaches and poor concentration.
Mangena says by improving access to vision care, the initiative helps children see clearly, focus better, and participate fully in their education:

The Vincent Tshabalala Education Trust awarded three Alexandra high schools for their 2025 matric results, recognising improved academic performance with cash prizes.
Minerva Secondary achieved a 97% pass rate and received R200,000, while Kwabhekilanga Secondary earned R150,000 for a 94% pass rate and Realogile Secondary received R100,000 after achieving 84.4%.
Four of Alexandra’s five high schools recorded pass rates above 80%, with two exceeding 90%.
The funding supports school resources and reinforces continued academic improvement in the township.
