Chloe Stuart Becomes Youngest Female Formula Vee Champion

Sixteen-year-old Chloe Stuart from Gauteng has made history in South Africa as the youngest female ever to win a Formula Vee title, a national single-seater racing championship, and the first woman in over 50 years to do so.
Chloe began racing karts at age seven under the guidance of her father, former endurance kart racer Barry Stuart.
She progressed through the junior ranks and finished her debut Formula Vee season as Rookie Champion.
She now competes in the BMW M-Performance NA Cup, Class D, with support from Pablo Clark Racing and several sponsors.

Applications Open for 2026 Samsung Solve For Tomorrow

Applications are now open for the 2026 Samsung Solve For Tomorrow competition, inviting Grade 10 and 11 learners from public schools across South Africa to submit STEM solutions to community challenges.
This year’s themes focus on social change through sport and technology, and environmental sustainability through technology.
Launched in 2023, the programme has expanded to all public schools, offering learners mentorship, skills development and a platform to showcase their ideas.
Winning teams can receive up to R100,000 in STEM equipment for their schools, plus Samsung devices to support their projects.
Applications close on 6 March 2026, with schools able to register online.

Johannesburg City Marathon Targets 8,000 Runners

Preparations are underway for the 2026 Johannesburg City Marathon, set to take place on Sunday, 22 March at the Klipriviersberg Recreation Centre in Kibler Park.
The race will feature 42-point-2 kilometre, 21-point-1 kilometre and 10 kilometre options, offering runners a scenic yet challenging route through the south of Johannesburg.
Organisers, including Johannesburg Harriers Athletics Club deputy chairperson Eric Mafune, say they are targeting eight thousand participants for the event.
