More than 3 000 young athletes from across South Africa competed at the Curro Podium North meeting at Pilditch Stadium in Pretoria.
Curro Hazeldean’s Bintou Camara broke a 46-year-old school athletics record in the U16 girls’ 200 metres, running it in 23-point-91 seconds.
The event also introduced primary school athletes to the Podium pathway, with more than 1 000 youngsters competing and 89 records set.

The film beat 157 international entries and focuses on coastal communities and activists working to protect South Africa’s coastline from offshore oil and gas exploration.

MaXhosa Africa Takes South African Culture To Paris Fashion Week

MaXhosa Africa is set to make history as the first South African brand to stage a full runway show on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar.
The show takes place in Paris on Monday, with the Spring Summer 2027 collection featuring 60 pieces inspired by South African culture, music and movement.
The brand has been part of the official Paris schedule for several seasons, but this marks its first full runway presentation, with musician Sjava also set to perform.
Managing director Lihle Nqini says the showcase will give the brand much greater international exposure as it expands globally.
