Bloemfontein Exhibition celebrates art and history

The Oliewenhuis Museum in Bloemfontein hosted a special exhibition titled "Sutha ke Fete", which celebrates the artistry, symbolism and historical significance of the Basotho blanket.
More than 30 blankets are on display, including the Seanamarena, Koena and Lefitor blankets which honours Queen Victoria of England.
The museum kicked off the exhibition with a walkabout to explain the significance of each blanket.

Premier Lesufi announces plan to digitise Gauteng museums

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has announced that a programme set to digitize museums in the province will be launched soon.
The premier was speaking at Heritage Day celebrations held at the Kagiso Sports Centre on Wednesday afternoon.
Lesufi says this will form part of the heritage strategy and programme for 2025.
Gauteng is home to more than 100 museums, five of which are inscribed as heritage sites.
The Premier also emphasised the importance of preserving the melting pot of cultures in the country.
