Major road closures expected for Ride Joburg cycling event

Motorists travelling in and around Johannesburg are advised to prepare for significant road closures and traffic disruptions on Sunday the 26th of October as the city hosts the ride Joburg cycling race.

The JMPD's Xolani Fihla says officers will be deployed along the route to manage traffic flow and maintain public safety throughout the day.

Key roads expected to experience closures include Nasrec, the Soweto Highway, Main Reef road, the N17, the M1 north and south the M2 east and Woodmead Drive.

Water and Sanitation Department awards 54 bursaries to top performing students

The Deputy minister of Water and Sanitation, David Mahlobo has applauded 54 outstanding high school learners who have been awarded bursaries through the department’s Learning Academy.

15 primary school learners also received cash prizes totalling R225, 000 on behalf of their schools at the Department’s Water and Sanitation Educational Programme National Adjudication.

Mahlobo says the awards are paving the way for a brighter future in the water and sanitation sector.

SA and UK Ministers sign R10m MoU on Public Works and Infrastructure

South Africa’s Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Dean Macpherson and UK Minister of State Chris Bryant have signed a Memorandum of Understanding valued at nearly R10m.
