Communities in Marlboro and Alexandra receive complimentary eye screenings

Residents in Marlboro, Alexandra and surrounding areas will have access to free eye tests every weekend throughout the month of October, in celebration of World Sight Month.

Screenings will take place at the healthcare centre at the Gautrain Malboro Station.
The initiative is a partnership between the Department of Health, the African Eye Institute and the University of Johannesburg and aims to make essential eye care services accessible to the local community.

create practical solutions, to drive growth in the province’s tourism sector.

Proceeds will benefit Touching Dreams’ Think Big Academy in KZN, which creates youth employment opportunities in tourism.

The Second iLembe Book Festival was hosted at the Luthuli Museum in KwaDukuza, from the 23rd of October. The festival aims to foster meaningful conversations among authors, readers, and community members.

The event featured a lineup of over twenty renowned authors from South Africa and across the continent.

The gathering was centered around the themes of heritage, diversity and literacy.

The institution has over the years, produced some of the most progressive leaders in the region.

The University held a "Corporate Day" event earlier this month, as part of its celebration programme, which included a tree-planting ceremony to symbolize environmental stewardship and collaboration with corporate guests and student volunteers, planting up to 240 trees.
