Tshwane’s historic Church Square is being prepped to welcome over 100 vendors next week for the city’s Entrepreneurs and Farmers Market Day.
Mayor Nasiphi Moya led a clean-up ahead of the event on November 26, which will see farmers, artists, crafters, and other traders showcase their products to the public and potential investors.
The market aims to support informal traders and boost the township economy, with plans to make Church Square a recurring platform for business and tourism.
MMCs Hannes Coetzee and Obakeng Ramabodu joined the mayor on the preparations.

The 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children officially kick off today.
The campaign is being launched in Midrand by Minister Sindiswe Chikunga.
This year’s theme, Letsema, which means coming together as a community to work for a common purpose, calls on everyone, men, women, boys and girls, to unite against gender-based violence and femicide.
The campaign aims to raise awareness and strengthen action across South Africa. Minister Sindiswe Chikunga says positive masculinity will be a key focus of this campaign.

Colombia has committed half a million square kilometres of its Amazon biome to renewable and regenerative activities only, banning future oil and mineral extraction.
The area, roughly the size of Sweden, covers 42 percent of Colombia’s territory and seven percent of the Amazon Rainforest.
Acting Environment Minister Irene Vélez Torres said the move aims to prevent forest degradation, river contamination and biodiversity loss while calling on neighbouring countries to coordinate Amazon protection.
