South Africa will be well represented at the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championships when 13 high school students from Cape Town take on teams from around the globe in Houston at the end of April.

They design, build, and program their own robots, while also running outreach programmes that mentor learners and train 48 coaches to start new robotics teams.
On the world stage, they will showcase South Africa’s talent in engineering and technology and work to expand access to STEM skills for young people back home.
