City Power launches EV charging station at Booysens head office
Story 1
City Power has unveiled an EV charging station at its Booysens head office, marking the start of a city-wide push toward electric vehicles.
The utility says rolling out charging stations across Johannesburg will create new jobs, align the city with global trends—including the EU’s upcoming ban on fossil fuel vehicle imports—and encourage private EV adoption.
City Power will also introduce electric vans and trucks for maintenance, cut fuel costs, reduce carbon emissions, and expand clean energy projects such as solar microgrids in informal settlements and upgrades at clinics, schools and hospitals.
